About me
I’ve lived with various furry and feathered friends over the years, but my husband and I currently share our home with Amber the golden retriever and Evie the cat.
Amber is my inspiration for becoming a dog trainer. I have found so much joy in helping her live a happy life and this drives my passion for helping people to understand their dogs.
As well as being a qualified dog trainer, I also work in Learning and Development for an international animal welfare charity and previously worked in a similar role for the RSPCA.
I have nearly a decade of experience and various qualifications in training people, teaching classes, one to one coaching and mentoring people in the workplace.
I was inspired to launch Your Pet Mentor as a way of using my years of professional experience in training and mentoring people to help pets and their owners live happy lives together.
I am have completed the Canine Training Instructor Course through PACT (Professional Association of Canine Trainers) and am an accredited Animal Training Instructor with the ABTC (Animal Behaviour and Training Council).
As a full member of PACT I adhere to both the PACT code of conduct and the ABTC code of conduct, so you can be assured that I make both my professional knowledge and your pet’s welfare my top priority.
I also hold a Dog First Aid qualification and am a Mental Health First Aider for humans.

Why am i Your Pet Mentor?
A mentor is a trusted advisor who you can ask questions and who readily shares their knowledge and expertise.
I know from experience what a difference it makes to have someone that is invested in your success to help you learn and grow. Throughout my career I have had brilliant mentors, as well as running mentoring schemes and mentoring others myself.
What people often don’t understand about dog trainers, is that we don’t train your dog! We give you the skills and knowledge you need to train your dog. As Your Pet Mentor, I will give you expert training advice and support you to do the best for your dog.
I will always treat both you and your dog with respect, kindness and compassion
I will not use any training methods or tools that work by causing pain or fear, such as prong collars, shock collars, slip leads, leash corrections etc.
I will get to know you and your dog so that anything I recommend is specifically
tailored to your training goals and what will work for youI will teach you games to play with your dog to make training fun!
I will explain things in a way that is easy for you to understand and tailor resources to your needs.
I will never make you feel judged or ashamed
